A Visitor!!

A couple weeks ago a friend of ours from IU came to visit- Rob B. While I am afraid we were not very exciting hosts due to our jobs, busy schedules, and generally anti-fun personalities, it was nice to show someone our routine and what we love (and don't love) about this place. I dragged Rob with me to a few classes, so he was able to pay for his accomodation by helping teach some of my classes. So let that be a lesson for any future visitors! Just kidding, we do like seeing Americans in our Pribram environment. So thanks to Rob for making the trek out to see us.

Vienna and Super Bowl

The most recent pictures below come from one long weekend. For some reason all the Czech schools had that Friday off. So Kass and I planned an extremely last minute trip to Vienna, leaving early that Friday morning and returning to Prague on Saturday evening. So you can see us below at one of the big palaces in Vienna. We had both been there to do the extreme tourist stuff previously so this time we just walked around the downtown area, visited Starbucks (2x, none in CZ so a Starbucks is a special event), and just had a relaxing time.
We got back in time for game night at the girl's apartment on Saturday night. That Sunday we visited different pubs to find a place that was showing the Superbowl. Not many places were considering it didn't start in CZ until 12:30am on Monday morning, and there are enough Americans in Prague to fill up all of the pubs that were showing the Superbowl, but we were able to find some room in one pub right downtown. And so were able to watch Rex win the game for the Colts. There was a fairly even number of Colts/Bears fans in the pub. We were not about to miss that game.

Superbowl group. Watched the game from 12:30am Monday morning till 4:30am. Took a 5:30am bus from Prague to Pribram, getting into town at 6:30am just in time to start our day teaching our first class at 7am. We were really really really tired that day but at least the COLTS WON! Would've been dissapointed to stay up just to see a Colts loss!

A rare scene: a deserted Old Town Square.

Events of Winter 2007

So the pictures below are from a few different occations. The biggest occation for the town of Pribram is the ples. Do you remember me talking about the ples I attended with our Prague friends up in Prague, the prom-like dance/ball? Well my Gymnazium has one also. It happened in January, soon after returning from winter break. And it was just a bunch of fun. The class pictures and dancing pictures are all from this. Kass, Amy, Sam and Nick (fellow Americans, except Nick who is the new husband of Sam) all came down for the ples and so we were forced to have a massive slumber party in our flat that night. Also below are pictures from the one good snowfall of the year (so far and probably we will not get another one) when Kass and I were wandering about Prague enjoying the magic of a snow covered Prague.
